Overview
A reputable food manufacturing organization with multiple operating entities is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in month-end close, reconciliations, and financial oversight. This role partners closely with the Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, and Controller and is well-suited for someone who enjoys ownership, structure, and long-term growth.
The Senior Accountant will support multiple business lines, including manufacturing and consumer-facing operations, within a lean and collaborative accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Accounting
- Lead and support month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations on an ongoing basis
- Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
Oversight & Review
- Review AR and AP aging reports and flag issues proactively
- Prepare weekly payment runs and partner with the Assistant Controller
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed
Multi-Entity & Systems
- Support accounting across multiple legal entities and operating units
- Work within a manufacturing-focused ERP system to ensure accurate financial data
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
Growth & Leadership
- Serve as a key right-hand support to the Accounting Manager
- Opportunity to grow into broader leadership responsibilities over time
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong general ledger and reconciliation experience
- Hands-on involvement in month-end close
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems
Preferred
- Experience in manufacturing or cost-center environments
- Exposure to multi-entity accounting
- Prior experience reviewing or mentoring other accountants
