POSITION SUMMARY: Provide Aderant development and support for Firm accounting team. Perform duties that support the business accounting applications and surrounding third party software. Conduct day-to-day support and technical administration of financial management systems, reports, integrations and associated modules.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Perform day-to-day job duties that support the firms billing and accounting software. This will include third-party packages, integrations, and reporting systems
Obtain a basic understanding of system functions and expand knowledge of accounting modules to aid in troubleshooting user support issues.
Assist on special projects of the firm that support all future functionality as the firm leverages Aderant footprint or implements third party software tools.
Develop expertise in Firm financial systems applications integration tools, design integration logic and provide second level support resolving issues with integrations.
Ensure financial system maintenance, update and backup routines are established, tested and functioning.
Develop understanding of SQL table structure and relationships and assist in providing data analysis and addressing issues with data integrity and reconciliations.
Assist in developing specifications for enhancements/customizations requested by Senior Management, Finance Systems staff, Compliance and Marketing/Business Development Groups.
Execute customizations and perform quality assurance and regression testing of all modifications to financial systems applications in test and production environment.
Maintaining detailed records, documenting procedures, assumptions, workflows, methodologies and sources of information used during all analytical tasks.
Coordinate with IT Dept., Applications development and database administration team as needed to integrate financial data with various third-party applications and databases.
Escalate problems not resolved within reasonable time limit to IT and financial systems management team and communicate affected users of the situation promptly.
Assist in ongoing analysis of departmental development needs and make recommendations for efficient use of Financial systems applications.
Create, track and update all project tasks and continually inform the department and management of the project's status.
Ability to participate and contribute on internal and external/vendor project teams for initiatives at a variety of levels.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:
Experience with Aderant, Elite or other ERP or accounting software packages.
Ability to work independently and self-manage tasks on internal projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with staff of varying technical expertise.
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated ability to work comfortably with different personalities, understand and manage change, coordinate services and personnel in resolving conflicts and issues, and independently diagnose and resolve complex problems and implement solutions.
Demonstrated experience communicating and explaining business and technical concepts, requirements and problems/issues to end-users and Management.
Flexibility for after-hours, weekend and/or holiday support.
Legal Industry Experience a plus.
Time entry software DTE or Aderant Time strongly preferred.
Aderant experience is strongly preferred
