Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, rolls, and specialty items, maintaining high standards of presentation and freshness
- Follow established recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all offerings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Manage inventory levels of seafood, rice, seaweed, and other ingredients, placing orders as needed to ensure availability
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and deliver exceptional service during busy hours
- Educate team members on proper sushi techniques and culinary best practices to foster continuous improvement
- Uphold food safety standards by practicing proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation
- Strong knowledge of seafood handling, knife skills, and presentation techniques
- Ability to develop innovative sushi recipes while adhering to traditional methods
