What are the responsibilities and job description for the Slitter Operator position at GOEX?
Pay: $22.63-$24.70 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 4×10-hour shifts
Job Type: Full-time - 7 am - 5:30 pm
Location: Cedar City, UT (In-person)
Job Overview
The Slitter Operator role at GOEX is a hands-on production position where you work as part of a tight, three-person team responsible for converting large rolls of plastic sheet into smaller, precisely cut rolls and packaging the finished product for shipment. Because the crew is small, every operator rotates through all tasks — machine setup, blade adjustments, material loading, monitoring the cut, inspecting rolls, and packaging.
This team relies on cooperation, communication, and shared responsibility. It is not a role for someone looking to take charge or act as a lead. Success here comes from working as an equal member of the group, listening to each other, rotating duties fairly, and keeping the workflow steady and efficient.
You’ll operate a slitting machine that unwinds a large roll, cuts it to the required widths, and rewinds it into finished rolls. You’ll use your mechanical aptitude to set up equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the final product meets exact customer specifications. When something looks off — uneven cuts, tension problems, winding defects — you’re expected to catch it and work with your teammates to correct it quickly.
This position offers a consistent Monday–Thursday, 4×10-hour schedule in a clean, safety-focused environment. GOEX provides hands-on training, so if you’re mechanically inclined, enjoy active work, and thrive in a small, collaborative group, you’ll fit right in.
