Job Overview

The Plastic Material Processor role at GOEX is a hands-on production position where you support extrusion operations by preparing, blending, and delivering raw materials to the production lines. You’ll manage multiple materials, operate blending and grinding equipment, perform cleanouts during changeovers, and ensure the correct materials are supplied to each line without contamination.

This role combines responsibilities from material handling, blending, and regrind processing — making it a key part of keeping extrusion running smoothly. You’ll troubleshoot equipment issues, maintain accurate material records, and communicate closely with the extrusion team to stay ahead of production needs.

This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical environment. GOEX provides hands-on training, so if you’re dependable, organized, and eager to learn, you’ll succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supply raw materials, regrind, and additives to dryers, blenders, and extrusion lines
• Set up, operate, and maintain blending equipment; follow BOMs and recipes to ensure correct material mixes
• Operate grinders efficiently, process regrind material, and maintain accurate grinding room records
• Clean blenders, grinders, gaylords, and material lines; ensure all equipment is free of particulate to avoid cross-contamination
• Perform material cleanouts during job changes; coordinate with extrusion personnel to ensure materials are ready
• Identify and resolve blender alarms, draw issues, and basic grinder problems
• Maintain complete and accurate paperwork, TES entries, and material tracking records
• Communicate material needs, upcoming changes, and shift updates with Material Handlers and incoming shifts
• Understand food safety hazards and follow GMPs, SOPs, and quality procedures
• Repair or replace material lines, cap unused lines, and maintain blending and grinding equipment
• Assist with training new Blender Operators or Material Processors
• Perform additional tasks as needed to support production

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to learn, operate, and troubleshoot blending, grinding, and material-handling equipment
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and follow material recipes accurately
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment with frequent task changes
• Lift 50 lbs frequently (up to 100 lbs with assistance), stand for long periods, climb up to 40 ft, and perform repetitive physical tasks
• Ability to follow BOMs, recipes, and contamination-control procedures with accuracy
• Ability to troubleshoot blender alarms, draw issues, and basic grinder problems
• Ability to communicate material needs, shift updates, and equipment issues clearly
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple materials, and maintain accurate documentation
• Ability to locate and follow SOPs, work instructions, and material flow charts
• Ability to work effectively with extrusion, material handling, and maintenance teams
• Consistent attendance and reliability in a 12-hour rotating schedule
• Must pass background check and drug screening

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Primarily a standing role with minimal sitting
• Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and occasionally assist with 100 lbs; some lifting over shoulder height
• Frequent bending, pushing, and pulling; occasional squatting, crawling, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and overhead reaching
• Frequent walking; occasional climbing up to 40 feet; must be comfortable working at elevated heights
• Firm grasping with both hands required for equipment operation and material handling
• Ability to read and comprehend at a 12th-grade level; perform basic math; follow written and verbal instructions; apply problem-solving skills
• Exposure to temperature and humidity changes, moving machinery, dust, fumes, and gases
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding production environment with frequent task changes
