Overview
Go Fast Campers (GFC) is built on a foundation of quality, adventure, and exceptional customer experience. The Subassemblies Technician supports production by building, staging, and transporting camper floors, roofs, and cushions in accordance with the production schedule and quality standards. This role ensures subassemblies are complete, accurate, and ready on time to support Final Assembly while maintaining safe work practices, organized workspaces, and clear communication with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety: Follow and promote all GFC safety policies and procedures. Work safely at all times when handling materials, tools, equipment, and company vehicles. Identify, report, and escalate safety concerns or risks promptly.
- Quality: Inspect components and subassemblies for visible defects or inconsistencies prior to release to Final Assembly. Reference and follow applicable quality control documentation for each subassembly product. Produce reliable, accurate, and consistent work the team can depend on.
- Production Support: Pre-assemble or modify subcomponents to support production flow. Ensure all parts and subassemblies are present, undamaged, and production-ready before required use dates. Safely transport floors, roofs, cushions, and assemblies between work areas and facilities without product damage. Maintain clean and organized workspaces, specifically for floor cutting and cushion stuffing.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Final Assembly team to identify workflow bottlenecks. Recommend process or workflow improvements where appropriate.Communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively within a cross-functional production environment. Bring attention to part shortages or quality issues and communicate promptly with the Final Assembly Lead and Inventory team.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1 year of experience in manufacturing, production support, or assembly (preferred but not required).
- Comfortable using hand and power tools, including safe operation of a vertical panel saw.Ability to read, understand, and accurately follow work instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail.Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
- Positive, team-first attitude with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
- Experience safely securing and transporting large objects using company vehicles.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8β10 hours per shift).
- Ability to routinely lift, carry, or move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving reaching, grasping, and handling tools or hardware.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise, bending, lifting, and concrete floors (PPE provided).
