Overview

The Assembly Support Technician plays a vital role in ensuring GFC products are built safely, accurately, and on time. This hands-on role supports the Final Assembly Team by ensuring components are prepped, staged, and ready for seamless integration into our campers, toppers, and rooftop tents.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Quality Assurance
- Safety is everyone’s responsibility. You work safely, follow all company health and safety policies, and ensure your team does as well.
- Inspect components for visible defects or inconsistencies before passing to final assembly.
- You and your work are reliable. The team knows they can trust you and your work to be on-time, accurate, and consistent.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Final Assembly team to identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
- Act as an extra set of hands during busy production periods, assisting with camper builds as needed under supervision.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully within a cross-functional team environment.
Production Support & Prep
- Assist in the preparation and staging of components for final assembly builds, ensuring all parts are present, undamaged, and ready for use.
- Pre-assemble or modify subcomponents (e.g., beams, floors, cushions) as needed to support production flow.
- Transport assemblies, carts, and hardware between workstations safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of shared tools, parts bins, and work areas.
- Identify shortages or quality issues in parts and communicate promptly with the Final Assembly Lead or Inventory team.
- Manage incoming parts from upstream departments to ensure readiness for installation.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1–2 years experience in manufacturing, production support, or assembly (preferred but not required).
- Comfortable using basic hand tools, power tools, and fasteners.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions or build documentation accurately.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Positive, team-first attitude and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift).
- Routinely lift or move components and materials up to 50 lbs.
- Perform repetitive tasks with hands and arms, including reaching, grasping, and handling tools or hardware.
- Tolerance for moderate noise, lifting, bending, and working on concrete floors (PPE provided).
