Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive estimates
- Prepare detailed cost proposals for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create accurate bids
- Conduct site visits to assess project scope and gather relevant data
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to negotiate pricing and terms
- Analyze project risks and develop strategies for cost control and risk mitigation
- Assist in contract review and ensure compliance with project requirements
- Monitor project budgets during construction to manage costs effectively
- Support project management teams in scheduling and resource allocation based on estimates
Skills
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and contract terms
- Strong knowledge of cost control methods, pricing strategies, and budget management
- Experience with construction site operations and understanding of construction management practices
- Ability to analyze complex project documents and develop accurate estimates
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams
