Senior Business Systems Analyst – Contract / Contract-to-hire
Duration: 4 months (extensions or CTH likely)
Client Location: Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN (some travel may be needed if not local)
We’re working with a direct client that has a contract need for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support their Energy Refineries, Pipelines, and Terminals (RPT) business. This role will focus on application support, enhancements, and ongoing improvements within the HVC landscape.
This is a hands-on role that requires someone who can work directly with the business, gather and translate requirements, and help drive solutions through to delivery.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partner with business teams to understand needs and translate them into system requirements
- Support and enhance existing applications, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Write and manage user stories, and work closely with development and QA teams
- Coordinate testing efforts (QA and UAT) and support implementations
- Help drive process improvements and identify opportunities for optimization
- Provide user support and occasional training on supported systems
- Work across IT teams to keep projects moving and ensure successful delivery
What they’re looking for:
- 4 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in an IT environment
- Strong experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and process analysis
- Background supporting integrated business applications
- Experience coordinating across IT and business teams on projects
Nice to have:
- Experience with supply planning / optimization tools (energy industry experience is a plus)
- SQL and data experience (data modeling, querying, etc.)
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tools
- Exposure to Power BI / Power Platform
- General understanding of system development lifecycle
