Role Overview
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the front-facing representative of the organization, delivering high-quality patient care while performing phlebotomy and specimen processing. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient trust, confidentiality, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary collections, including pediatric and geriatric patients
- Prepare and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervisor direction
- Maintain a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and confidentiality awareness
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)
- Excellent phlebotomy skills with pediatric and geriatric patients
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Keyboarding/data entry proficiency (Required)
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of phlebotomy experience
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment
Licensure & Certification Requirements
- Active California Phlebotomy License (Required)
- Phlebotomy certification required per CA state regulations
