We are seeking an execution-ready Hydraulic Engineer / Project Manager to champion complex stormwater, flood control, and drainage engineering initiatives across the Phoenix metropolitan area.


The Impact & Core Responsibilities


As a dual-threat technical expert and leader within our multi-disciplinary team, you will seamlessly blend elite technical modeling with structured project execution:


  • Advanced Simulation: Prepare comprehensive hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using a wide range of models, including $HEC-RAS$, $HEC-RAS\ 2D$, $HEC-HMS$, and $FLO-2D$.
  • Regulatory & Permitting: Prepare meticulous hydrologic and hydraulic studies and navigate complex FEMA permitting processes.
  • Jurisdictional Mastery: Research localized desert drainage requirements for appropriate, flawless integration into design and construction drawings.
  • Design Oversight: Oversee the production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD, perform data management, and prepare high-caliber exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Multi-Discipline Collaboration: Productively collaborate with internal Project Managers and work cross-functionally within a multi-discipline team environment to achieve project success and cultivate team camaraderie.
  • Staff Development: Mentor and train EIT staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic theory, modern design practices, and operational workflows.
  • Fieldwork & Presentations: Conduct site visits, document critical field findings, and write/coordinate graphic materials for high-impact presentations and formal documents.
  • Operational Excellence: Understand, follow, and enforce strict business processes. Adhere to QMS (Quality Management System) and quality initiatives, ensuring all daily operations and project assignments are delivered on-time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Performance Tracking: Review detailed project reports and performance metrics to track project progress, manage budgets, and ensure overall project profitability and client satisfaction. Proactively propose and produce more effective ways to accomplish engineering tasks.


The Prerequisite Profile: Execution-Ready Criteria


  • Credentials: Active Professional Licensed Engineer (PE) required (State of Arizona preferred or transferable comity).
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated drainage, hydrology, and hydraulics engineering experience (Phoenix basin experience is highly desired).
  • Technical Savvy: Strong, thorough knowledge of construction means, methods, and techniques, with the proven ability to prepare civil engineering documents and technical specifications.
  • Tools: Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and GIS mapping software (ArcGIS/QGIS).
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills with a proven track record of working exceptionally well in a team environment and maintaining thorough attention to detail.
