Maintenance Job Description

PURPOSE: Interface with Prime Contractor providing support with the operation and maintenance of Meter Warehouse and stored equipment.

DETAIL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Customer Service - Daily

Meter Maintenance Assistant must interface with Prime Contractor and each customer in a professional manner, providing assistance with the Meter Warehouse operation.

2. Interface With Personnel - Daily

Meter Warehouse Maintenance Assistant will have primary responsibility for the care and maintenance of Meter Warehouse and stored equipment used by the City of New Orleans. Duties will include inventorying parts and equipment housed in the Warehouse. General daily maintenance and janitorial duties associated with maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse facility is a job requirement. Performance of these duties will require interaction with Contractor personnel on a daily basis, including Parking Control Officers and City Officials. This interface must be provided in a professional and efficient manner.

3. On Street Meter Service and Repair-Daily

General duties will include maintenance and repair of installed parking meters including battery and parts replacements. Incumbent required to maintain valid drivers to drive and operate company vehicles.

4. Other Duties - Daily

All other duties as assigned.

None

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

SUPERVISOR: Operations Manager

TYPE OF SUPERVISION: Close supervision due to the sensitive nature of the position.

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:

EQUIPMENT: Responsible for general upkeep of stored Warehouse equipment. Facility: Responsible for general maintenance of Warehouse light janitorial duties.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS:

INTERNAL: Other Global Parking Employees, Standard Parking Plus Staff and City of New Orleans personnel.

EXTERNAL: City of New Orleans personnel located at 1300 Perdido St and 400 North Claiborne, 300 LaSalle St. as well as City Officials as required. Guards; Officers; Courier Service.

POSITION STATUS, AVAILABILITY and HOURLY RATE

Must be available to work a full-time, Monday – Friday shift from 7:30a – 4:00p. The starting rate for the position is $15.60 hourly.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Must be able to stand for long hours, walk long distances, lift heavy objects and work outside in elements.
