IT Project Manager

Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a large-scale IT initiative. This role involves working with multiple internal and external stakeholders, project teams, divisions, and vendors to implement a new IT solution. The Project Manager will interact with senior-level business executives, IT personnel, business program resources, and vendor staff to execute project requirements and manage stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with sponsors and portfolio managers to identify and prioritize initiatives.
• Develop and manage divisional roadmaps.
• Create business cases and cost-benefit analyses for initiatives.
• Manage approvals, Statements of Work, and vendor onboarding.
• Establish governance models and oversee risk/opportunity management.
• Track budgets, funding channels, and project progress.
• Present program details, risks, and updates to senior/executive management.
• Ensure compliance with IT roadmap and security requirements.
• Manage resource allocations and maintain transparent communications.
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong leadership, negotiation, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• Proven experience managing multiple large projects with varying timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication tailored to diverse audiences.
• Hands-on experience with risk, cost, schedule, quality, testing, and communications.
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and MS Office.
• Ability to build, influence, and motivate effective teams.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP/PgMP or Agile (PMI-ACP) certification.
• Experience with legacy system replacement and data migration projects.
• Background in statewide IT project implementations.
• Collaboration experience with state and local government.
