Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly qualified Safety Director to join our team in the environmental services industry. As Safety Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with industry regulations and a safe work environment. You will work closely with employees at all levels of the organization to promote a culture of safety and minimize the risk of accidents or injuries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental services and an in-depth knowledge of safety regulations. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior managers in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans.
  • Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives.
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Adhere to the company’s policies and standards, and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed.
  • Manage and oversee Global’s Safety Department.
  • Travel to other company locations and regional offices to visit teams and oversee safety operations.
  • Maintain an active presence at customer sites for the duration necessary to ensure safety protocols are established and the local safety team is fully supported.
  • Ensure that safety training programs for company employees are conducted on a regular basis· Ensure the inspection of the organization’s equipment and machinery are not in conditions that are not safe
  • Report back to company’s top management team as regards safety adjustments that may be required to be made within the organization.
  • Ensure the inspection and/or monitoring of daily operations of employees are in compliance with safety policies and laws
  • Make sure that the entire workplace (including employees) is in compliance with industry, state, and other company-related safety guidelines or rules
  • Work closely with Human Resources to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
  • Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs enterprise-wide, and implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs.
  • Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement where necessary.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management to support organizational needs.
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in the environmental services industry
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards
  • Possession of a valid passport for travel requirements.
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%) to other company locations and customer sites as needed, including out-of-state travel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Professional certification in safety management (e.g., Certified Safety Professional) is preferred
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite and safety management software

Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
