Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support new product development and vehicle integration activities for off-highway equipment. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in mechanical design, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership across global engineering teams.
This role involves end-to-end ownership of mechanical design activities, from concept development through production release, with a focus on weldments, vehicle integration, and system-level engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and new product development activities using Creo.
- Manage and maintain product data using Windchill PLM, including BOMs, drawings, and engineering changes.
- Design and release complex weldments, including detailed welding symbols, weld styles, machining symbols, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Support vehicle integration, including hydraulic and electrical routing within off-highway platforms.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams across multiple geographies, ensuring timely delivery and design consistency.
- Provide technical input for off-highway vehicle subsystems used in construction, agriculture, and forestry equipment.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and monitoring to ensure milestones and deliverables are met.
- Drive continuous improvement by learning and applying new technologies to enhance existing product lines.
- Support business development initiatives through technical feasibility studies and customer interactions.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, addressing technical queries and design concerns.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret requirements and resolve complex engineering issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in Mechanical Design and New Product Development using Creo (Mandatory).
- Hands-on experience with Windchill PLM tool (Mandatory).
- In-depth knowledge of off-highway vehicles and related subsystems in construction, agriculture, or forestry domains (Mandatory).
- Prior experience working with and coordinating multi-geography/global engineering teams (Mandatory).
- Expertise in:
- Complex weldment design
- Welding processes and standards
- GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Manufacturing and machining symbols (Mandatory)
- Good understanding of hydraulic and electrical routing within vehicle platforms.
- Exposure to business development and customer engagement activities.
- Strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers in the off-highway or automotive domain.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to off-highway vehicles.
