Body Shop Technician Assistant Position Summary
Glick Fire Equipment Company, Inc. is a family-owned-and-operated business that employs more than 100 people throughout Pennsylvania. We offer high quality products and service for Fire & EMS companies. The Body Shop Technician Assistant will work Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm, alongside coworkers to assist in preparing apparatus for customer pick up, to achieve optimum efficiency and excellency in customer service.
Body Shop Technician Assistant Job Responsibilities
- Review, plan & develop appropriate efficient methods for each repair order/work order prior to beginning work on the apparatus
- Disassembly, reassembly, and graphics removal
- Retain an inventory of personal tools needed to perform essential tasks and take responsibility to obtain tools needed to perform job duties
- Disassemble & reassemble damaged and undamaged parts for body work as needed
- Ensure proper safe, clean, care, storage and inventory of vehicles, shop equipment and specialty tools
- Transport apparatus and run for parts
- Report building and equipment repair needs to manager and assist with maintenance
- Ensure customers are greeted promptly and with respect
- Maintain and wear all required safety and personal protective equipment
Body Shop Technician Assistant Job Requirements
- H.S. diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- PA Commercial Driver's License with air brake & tanker endorsement required
- Ability to work on ladders and small scaffolding
Highly professional, dependable and ability to work alone, making confident decisions
Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of 25 lbs
