What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lunch Monitor 3.5 hours position at Glens Falls City School District?
We are seeking a reliable and attentive Lunch Monitor to ensure a safe, clean and organized cafeteria environment for our students during daily lunch periods.
- Student Supervision: Monitor and supervise students in the cafeteria and designated lunch areas to ensure a safe, positive, and orderly environment.
- Cafeteria Organization: Assist with directing student traffic, helping students find their seats, and managing lunch lines.
- Cleanliness & Maintenance: Monitor table during and between lunch shifts, assisting with light cleaning, spill management, and encouraging students to clean up after themselves.
- Student Assistance: Help students with minor needs, such as opening food packaging and finding utensils
Job Qualifications
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to maintain order and manage large groups of students effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with students, staff, and administration.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and fair when addressing student behavior or minor conflicts.
- capability to stand and walk for the duration of the lunch shifts and perform light cleaning duties (such as wiping tables or handling minor spills).
