We are looking for a full-time Help Desk Technician for our school district. This is an 8 hour, 12 month position with an individual contract. The work involves responsibility for providing first-level technical support to end users within a school district, including teachers, administrators, and support staff. The incumbent serves as the initial point of contact for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring timely resolution or escalation as appropriate. Work is performed under general supervision of a higher-level information technology administrator, with some leeway allowed for independent judgment in resolving routine technical issues.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

- Provides first-level technical support to staff and students by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues
- Installs, configures, and maintains computers, devices, and classroom technology equipment
- Manages user accounts, access permissions, and supports district software applications
- Documents support requests and resolutions; escalates complex issues to appropriate IT staff or vendors
- Assists with technology inventory, device deployment, and provides basic training and guidance to users
Job Qualifications
This is a provisional appointment pending the successful completion of the civil service test.
1. Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with an Associates Degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Data Processing, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field ;
OR
2. Graduation from high school or a high school equivalency diploma and one year of full time paid experience involving Windows desktop applications.
