We are seeking an Engineering Intern to join our team at Glenn Metalcraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Use SolidWorks to create drawings of parts.
- Work closely with engineers and quality department for optimum results.
- Design processes, develop best practices and innovative solutions to improve production rates.
- Prepare and present recommendations for approval.
- Ensure the efficient and safe functioning of processes related to our manufacturing.
- Evaluate existing processes and suggest measures for improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Provide process documentation and initiate Standard Work Procedures with manufacturing staff.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and financial budgets are followed.
- Perform process simulations, risk assessment while managing cost and time constraints.
- Analyze the industry as a whole and recommend improvements in the field.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled or recent graduate of an associate, undergraduate, or graduate engineering program or related field
- Possess a working knowledge of Solid Works and AutoCad
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean and Six Sigma
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to prioritize tasks, handle numerous assignments, and approach tasks with attention to detail.
- Analytical thinker with strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Friendly and professional demeanor toward all contacts, whether internal or external
- Flexibility to handle varying assignments and to accommodate shifting priorities.
- High desire to achieve goals and complete projects in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
- Standing, walking, and bending periodically
- Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds occasionally.
- Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers - typing and/or writing
- Receiving and responding to oral communication
