Join our energetic and member-focused team as a Summer Camp Counselor, where you will help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers while supporting the daily operations of Glenmoor Country Club’s Summer Camp. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, bring a positive attitude, and thrive in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven setting.
Glenmoor Country Club’s Summer Camp serves children in grades K–6, offering recreational, creative, and social activities designed to deliver exceptional summer experiences for our member families. The Summer Camp Counselor works closely with the Summer Camp Supervisor to ensure programming runs smoothly, and campers have a safe and memorable summer.
Key Responsibilities
Camp Programming & Activities
- Assist with implementing 8 weeks of age-appropriate camp programming
- Support weekly themes through games, crafts, sports, and recreational activities
- Facilitate assigned camp groups through the daily schedule
- Help prepare materials and supplies for activities
- Maintain enthusiasm and engagement during activities
Camper Supervision & Experience
- Provide constant supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of campers
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging camp environment
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and positive behavior
- Assist with managing camper behavior using positive guidance techniques
- Support transitions between activities throughout the day
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Summer Camp Supervisor and fellow counselors to execute daily programming
- Communicate any camper concerns, incidents, or behavioral issues to the Supervisor promptly
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and organization of camp spaces
- Provide support for group activities, special events, and themed days
Parent Interaction & Member Service
- Greet parents and campers in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide general updates to parents when appropriate
- Maintain a warm, welcoming, and hospitality-focused approach with member families
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Ensure proper camper sign-in/sign-out procedures are followed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe activity environment
- Follow all applicable club and Colorado State regulations
- Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies, notifying the Supervisor immediately
Club & Service Expectations
- Represent Glenmoor Country Club in a professional and positive manner
- Maintain a polished and appropriate appearance
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and teamwork
- Build positive relationships with campers, parents, and staff
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous experience working with children preferred (babysitting, coaching, tutoring, camp, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to remain active and engaged in a fast-paced environment
- Must be dependable and safety-minded
Preferred but Not Required
- CPR & First Aid certification
- Experience working in camps, childcare, recreation, or hospitality environments
Additional Requirements
Because this role works directly with minors, candidates may be required to successfully complete a background screening prior to employment.
