License Requirements: Professional Educator's License with ESL Endorsement(Grades K-9) Or Bilingual Endorsement (K-9) & Foreign Language Spanish Endorsement required

Employment Expectations
All District 41 employees are expected to maintain high standards in their school relationships, to demonstrate integrity and honesty, to be considerate and cooperative, and to maintain professional relationships with students, parents, staff members, and others.
Teachers employed by the Board to teach in District 41 schools are subject to applicable state and federal laws and regulations, the policies and procedures of the Board of Education and the collective bargaining agreement applicable to the Teacher. All aforementioned may be amended or modified from time-to-time.
In filling a vacancy the district's first concern is to maintain and improve the service it renders to children.
License Requirements: Professional Educator's License with ESL Endorsement(Grades K-9) Or Bilingual Endorsement (K-9) & Foreign Language Spanish Endorsement required
- Assesses newly arriving non-English speaking students
- Provides evaluation and testing for non-English speaking and limited proficiency students as required by the state
- Delivers instruction to ESL students appropriate to his/her level as determined by formal assessment
- Collaborates with classroom teachers regarding each student's needs and strategies that can be used to meet those needs
- Provides support and resource information to classroom teachers
- Administers formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and drive instruction
- Establishes and maintains communication with parents
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by the law and District policy
- Attends staff and student related meetings to meet the needs of the program and students
- Participates in in-service and teacher training provided by the district
