What are the responsibilities and job description for the Migrant Translator position at GLBHC?
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

- Provides translation for patients, providers Works with the staff during clinic hours translating for patients and providers.
- Assists in clinic flow by putting patients in the examination rooms/operators’, as needed.
- Assists patients with special needs.
- Assists patient with completion of required forms.
- Functions as a front desk receptionist as needed. Provides reminder calls to patients to ensure arrival at scheduled appointments.
MARGINAL JOB DUTIES
- Helps with clinic set-up and clean up.
- Assures that the examination rooms/operators’ are kept adequately stocked, clean and safe.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Licensure: N/A
- Experience: Previous experience in working with the public preferred.
- Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish. Must be able to provide excellent customer service. Basic computer skills preferred.
- Interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate and emphasize with population served.
- Physical Effort: Must be able to sit, stand, and or walk for an entire workday. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and or twist while holding up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Hours of Work: Part-time, Seasonal – Flexible and varied to include evenings hours as required.
- Travel: Minimal local travel between migrant sites as needed. Reimbursement of personal vehicle usage in accordance with GLBHC policy.
