Vendor & Facility Oversight
Competencies:
The Traveling Third-Party Vendor Representative is responsible for representing the company at licensed cannabis cultivators, manufacturers, distributors, and processors to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and strong vendor relationships. This role requires travel, attention to detail, and working knowledge of cannabis regulations and supply chain processes.
This position serves as a liaison between vendors, testing laboratories, distributors, and internal operations teams to ensure cannabis products meet company standards and state compliance requirements before reaching the retail market
Vendor & Facility Oversight
- Visit licensed cannabis facilities to monitor product quality, packaging, labeling, and storage conditions.
- Conduct vendor audits and inspections to ensure adherence to company SOPs and state regulations.
- Document findings and provide corrective action recommendations when deficiencies are identified.
- Verify that cannabis products meet regulatory testing, sampling, and documentation requirements prior to distribution.
- Ensure chain-of-custody documentation and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) are complete and accurate.
- Support compliance with state distribution rules, including testing and batch tracking requirements.
- Maintain detailed field reports, inspection logs, and vendor performance records.
- Upload findings to company tracking systems and communicate issues to compliance and operations teams.
- Track product discrepancies, damaged inventory, or labeling errors and escalate as needed.
- Act as the primary point of contact for third-party vendors during site visits.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with cultivators, manufacturers, and distributors.
- Provide education and guidance on company quality expectations and evolving regulatory standards.
- Travel regularly to licensed facilities, distribution hubs, and retail partners across assigned regions.
- Manage travel schedules, expense reports, and mileage tracking in accordance with company policy.
- Have communication with Inventory to make sure there is enough product to work on.
- Give Sales update on quality of product and offer a heads-up for any lower quality
- Report any issues with employees to the HR department.
- Create, update Sop’s as needed.
- Communicate with other managers when they cover your area
Competencies:
- Working knowledge of state cannabis regulations and seed-to-sale tracking systems (e.g., METRC).
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Regulatory compliance and auditing
- Vendor relations and conflict resolution
- Inventory verification and chain-of-custody procedures
- Report writing and digital documentation
- Time management and independent field work
- HS graduate or college and or university education preferred
- 2 years of experience in cannabis operations, quality assurance, compliance, or vendor management.
- Must be 21 years of age
- Bilingual preferred
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude
- Authorized to work in the United States
- This position requires a 40-hour minimum work week
- Must be able to write and communicate effectively with the entire team.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel
- Frequent driving and travel between facilities.
- Ability to lift and inspect product cases up to 25–40 lbs.
- Exposure to cultivation and manufacturing environments, including strong cannabis odors and warehouse conditions
