Functional SAP Benefits & Payroll Consultant

We are seeking an experienced SAP Benefits & Payroll Functional Consultant to support a large public sector organization with a backlog of critical Benefits and Payroll initiatives. This is a highly visible role that requires a strong blend of technical SAP expertise, business analysis, stakeholder engagement, and leadership capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with SAP Benefits and Payroll configuration within SAP ECC 6.0, including complex payroll schemas, rules, functions, and wage type configuration. This consultant will lead requirements gathering sessions, analyze complex business needs, configure SAP solutions, and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex SAP Benefits and Payroll enhancement requests and projects.
• Configure and support SAP Benefits and Payroll modules within SAP ECC 6.
• 0.Design, modify, and troubleshoot payroll rules, schemas, functions, and wage types.
• Support integration between SAP Payroll and SAP Finance.
• Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with business stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions.
• Develop and maintain functional specifications and project documentation.
• Execute and support payroll business process testing and validation activities.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to permanent client staff.
• Support projects involving:
• Benefits and payroll reporting for medical providers
• Automation of benefit plan selections
• Employee organization and representation changes

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of SAP Benefits configuration experience, including recent hands-on configuration work.
• Minimum 3 years of public sector SAP experience.
• At least 5 years of SAP Benefits experience within SAP ECC 6.0.
• Strong experience with: SAP Benefits (ECC 6.0)
• SAP Payroll Configuration Payroll Rules and Schemas
• Payroll Functions
• Wage Type Configuration
• SAP Payroll and Finance Integration
• Business Requirements Gathering and Analysis
• SAP Payroll Business Process Testing
• Experience working within SAP ERP 6.0 Enhancement Package 8 environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and facilitation abilities.

Proven experience producing high-quality functional documentation and conducting knowledge transfer sessions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in large, complex public sector environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex business requirements.
• Demonstrated success leading client-facing workshops and solution design sessions.
