A Day in the Role
Morning: You kick off by reviewing supplier test data from a new metal-formed component. You validate the test approach, refine acceptance criteria, and prepare feedback for the supplier’s quality team.
Midday: You collaborate with internal stakeholders in engineering, procurement, and plant quality to align on PPAP status for a die-cast housing. You confirm alignment with DAUCH requirements and IATF 16949 expectations.
Afternoon: You facilitate a CI/VAVE workshop with an existing supplier to reduce variation and cost. You update QMS documentation to reflect an improved control plan and draft a succinct summary tailored for both executive and technical audiences.
Evening: You capture risks, record actions in the workflow tool, and advise internal partners on next steps to ensure every supplied product meets the agreed specification.

What You’ll Own
- Test Method Leadership: Validate and improve new and existing quality assurance test methods and procedures.
- Hands-on Testing: Execute complex inspections and interpret results to confirm specification conformance.
- QMS Stewardship: Support the design, development, and documentation of quality management policies and processes.
- Continuous Improvement & VAVE: Spot opportunities, lead change initiatives, and embed sustainable improvements.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Build a strong internal network; understand needs and ensure clear, effective communication.
- Compliance: Uphold organizational policies, procedures, and applicable industry standards (including IATF 16949).
- Trusted Advisor: Provide guidance to internal and external customers on complex quality and sourcing processes.
- Clear Documentation: Draft, edit, and adapt materials for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in the automotive sector.
- Knowledge of machining, metal forming, stamping, and die casting.
- Experience approving PPAPs with metal-mechanical suppliers.
- Audit experience and strong knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
