Summer Intern – Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing)

Location: Newton, NC

Department: Lean Manufacturing

Duration: Summer Internship (10–12 Weeks)

Reports To: Lean Manufacturing Systems Manager

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated summer Intern focused on Continuous Improvement pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field to support our Continuous Improvement (CI) team. The intern will assist with process mapping, data analysis, and Lean/Six Sigma–based improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support process mapping, workflow analysis, and documentation.
• Collect and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with Kaizen events, workshops, and CI initiatives.
• Prepare reports and dashboards to track KPIs and project updates.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on small-scale improvements.
• Research and recommend best practices and innovative solutions.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Strong interest in Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with data visualization tools a plus.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Prior coursework or exposure to improvement projects preferred.
