The Industrial Engineer analyzes operating environments, identifies process inefficiencies and conducts time and motion studies. The role conceptualizes improvements and assists in developing business cases, develops and evaluates pilot programs, simulations, and prototypes, and implements new and enhanced processes and tools. The Industrial Engineer also participates in the design of layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain labor standards by analyzing work methods, conducting time studies, and measuring work performance.
- Improve labor utilization through method analysis, testing process modifications, and recommending job restructuring.
- Enhance workflow and layout efficiency by analyzing process flows, workstations, and equipment, and proposing improvements or new procedures.
- Identify, analyze, and reduce waste by evaluating methods, equipment, and operator techniques.
- Lead and support work improvement and continuous improvement programs in collaboration with management and engineering teams.
- Prepare and present work analysis reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operational data and trends.
- Complete improvement projects by training and guiding operators and supervisors on new methods and standards.
- Develop, update, and maintain operations guidelines, procedures, and work methods.
- Support Digital Transformation / Industry 4.0 initiatives, leveraging manufacturing data to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure confidentiality of company information and support organizational integrity.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of work measurement, process optimization, and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Ability to analyze data, develop standard work, and drive measurable improvements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and engineering teams.
