Food Service Facilitator

Love being around kids, enjoy the energy of camp, and feel comfortable in a kitchen? Girl Scouts Louisiana East is looking for a Food Service Facilitator to help make mealtimes part of a fun and welcoming camp experience at beautiful Camp Marydale in St. Francisville, LA!

You do not need to be a professional cook or cafeteria worker. We’re looking for someone who enjoys preparing and serving simple meals and snacks, can follow menus and basic recipes, keeps a clean and organized kitchen, and likes being part of a team that creates great experiences for girls.

What you’ll do (overview):

• Help prepare and serve meals and snacks for campers and staff
• Handle basic, non-complex cooking and food preparation
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and food-safe
• Help with supplies, inventory, cookouts, and camp meals
• Be a positive, welcoming presence in the camp environment

This could be a great fit for someone with food service experience from restaurants, concessions, community or church events, catering, camps, or similar settings—not just professional kitchens.

Applicants must be 18 or older, have food service experience, have dependable transportation, and have or be willing to obtain required food safety certification. The schedule may include daytime, after-school hours, evenings, and occasional weekends.

This is an active, hands-on camp role. You’ll spend extended periods standing and moving around the kitchen, with regular bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying supplies. The role may require lifting up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Because you’ll be working in a camp kitchen and outdoor recreational setting, you should also be comfortable with heat, humidity, seasonal weather, and the normal hustle and noise of meal service.
