About The Role
We are looking for an experienced millwork drafter to create construction drawings, including 2D CAD details, 3D CAD details, and CNC part layouts, for the fabrication of high-end, custom millwork and cabinetry for luxury retail store interiors, custom trade show exhibits, and commercial interior environments.
In this role, you will collaborate directly with project managers and production supervisors to turn conceptual designs into detailed construction drawings that will be used by our production team to manufacture projects.
Responsibilities
Work independently to create millwork shop drawings from the interpretation of architectural blueprints
Maintain the CAD catalog of drawings & details, for easy to find reference on future projects
Manage and enhance the actual CAD drawings with the following considerations: Engineering, structural integrity/physical operation, and hardware compatibility
Compose assembly drawings showing joinery details and finishes
Work with architects, project managers, and other interdepartmental entities to problem solve
Create part drawings for fabrication manually or on our CNC machinery
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or engineering or a related field or a related field is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in millwork or cabinetry.
AutoCAD 2D & 3D
Strong attention to detail on details within the construction drawings, as well as timeline management
Strong mechanical aptitude in the interpretation of technical drawings with a strong understanding of cabinetry construction methods
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
