This role involves managing and organizing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies and tools, which includes receiving, storing, and issuing items, maintaining accurate inventory records, and reordering stock to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory management: Track, receive, store, and issue tools, parts, and supplies. This includes performing cycle counts and updating inventory records.
- Distribution: Dispense parts and tools to employees, often by recording what is taken and by whom.
- Reordering and stocking: Identify and record parts that need to be reordered and ensure that received supplies are stocked in the correct locations.
- Organization: Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the crib area to ensure efficient operations and safety, which may include following 5S standards.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of inventory, including data entry into a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Support: Assist with MRO purchasing and may need to operate material handling equipment like a forklift or pallet jack.
- Organizational and attention to detail skills are critical.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical specifications for comparison. Understanding of mathematical basics and mechanical components.
- Ability to do basic data entry in Word, Excel, CMMS and be able to learn new systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is often required.
- Familiarity with the handling of tools and parts, and potentially operating material handling equipment, is important.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are beneficial for interacting with management and other employees.
