Work Location: In-Person, Telehealth, Mobile Unit, or Hybrid

Position Summary

The Child Psychologist provides comprehensive psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation services for children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, developmental, or mental health disorders. This position works collaboratively with families, schools, physicians, and multidisciplinary treatment teams to develop individualized treatment plans that promote emotional well-being and healthy development.

Services may be provided in person, through secure telehealth platforms, mobile, or a combination of all three, depending on organizational and client needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and clinical needs.
  • Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Diagnose mental health disorders in accordance with DSM-5-TR criteria.
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychological and developmental testing when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, federal, Medicaid, and insurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, case managers, schools, and other community providers.
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
  • Educate parents and caregivers regarding treatment recommendations and behavioral interventions.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, continuing education, and required training.
  • Maintain professional licensure and continuing education requirements.
  • Provide services through telehealth while maintaining privacy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Licensure

  • Current Missouri Psychologist License in good standing or ability to obtain Missouri licensure prior to employment.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience providing psychological services to children and adolescents.
  • Experience treating trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and other childhood mental health conditions preferred.
  • Experience with psychological testing and assessments preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of child development and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish therapeutic relationships with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth technology.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through virtual platforms.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based clinical setting.
  • Telehealth services from an approved private work location when applicable.
  • Occasional travel between agency locations may be required.
  • Flexible scheduling, including occasional evening appointments based on client needs.
