Based in any U.S. Office, the Knowledge Management Data Steward will be responsible for maintaining the quality, integrity, and consistency of data supporting the firm’s Litigation and Investigation practices. As part of the Knowledge Management (KM) team, this role partners closely with the Information Governance (IG) and Records Management (RM) teams to ensure that litigation data across internal systems is accurate, secure, and maintained in alignment with firmwide governance protocols. This role will collaborate with attorneys, practice managers, and business services to support litigation- and investigation-centric initiatives through reliable data stewardship.
This role reports to the Chief Legal Operations Officer.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary steward of Litigation and Investigations-related data assets across repositories and systems.
- Define, document, and maintain metadata standards, taxonomies, and naming conventions specific to litigation matters.
- Ensure the accuracy of client and matter data in relevant databases, KM platforms, and document management systems.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues proactively through profiling, cleansing, and validating data.
- Monitor data quality dashboards; conduct regular audits to identify and rectify data discrepancies and inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with Litigation and Investigations practices to understand evolving data needs and optimize data capture processes accordingly.
- Assist with system migrations and implementations by ensuring clean, structured data for integration.
- Monitor and share e-discovery developments, legal tech innovations, and regulatory requirements impacting litigation data.
- Collaborate with Knowledge Management, Practice Management, Business Development, and Marketing to enhance business intelligence, track pitches and other client facing activity, and maximize precedent accessibility and useability.
- Assist Information Governance to develop and maintain policies on data retention, security classification, and audit trail records.
- Assist with system migrations and implementations by preparing clean, structured data for integration.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the life cycle of litigation matters, litigation workflows, e-discovery processes, and document management systems.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office, database tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI), and document management platforms.
- Demonstrated success working across teams with a high level of autonomy, attention to detail, and discretion.
- Knowledge of legal technology platforms, in particular Intapp and Foundation and best practices in knowledge capture and reuse.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Collaboration and facilitation skills to work with various departments and facilitate their ability to work with each other.
- Ability to work effectively independently and with a team, and to delegate and manage resources effectively.

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Legal Studies, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in a data governance, paralegal, or litigation support function, ideally within a law firm or corporate legal department.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $85-100k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
