Based in New York or Washington, D.C., the Network Engineer will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's network infrastructure. This role ensures stability, integrity, and efficient operation of all in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to network management. The engineer closely collaborates with all IT teams and Information Security.
This role reports to the Director, IS Operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Configure, install and manage network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high levels of network availability and security.
- Maintain and update network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Implement and enforce network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Support and administer third-party network solutions and integrations.
- Collaborate with IT team members to plan and execute system upgrades, maintenance, and network-related projects.
- Respond to and resolve network outages, performance bottlenecks, and other technical issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to detect and remediate vulnerabilities and threats.
- Document architecture, processes, and changes.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), and best practices.
- Experience with configuring and managing Cisco, Palo Alto, Netscaler, F5 and similar networking equipment.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in network engineering or a similar IT role.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $135-165k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
