General Summary
Under the direct supervision of CEO and COO/CCO, the Clinical Director of Radiology, in conjunction with the Administrative Director of Radiology, is responsible for the management of the technical aspect of the radiology department and financial components of the department. The Director will work in conjunction with Administrative Director , Director of Charge Master , and Department Radiology Physicians. Director is also responsible to the radiologist to assist in the management of the medical aspect of the radiology department. The Clinical Director of Radiology is responsible to provide sufficient technical imaging services that meet the needs of our patients, physicians, and organization that align with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (in conjunction with the Administrative Radiology Director)
- Directs and supervisors department personnel.
- Holds monthly department meetings. Schedules in-services, and professional workshops and seminars as needed.
- Maintains department equipment and work area in a clean and safe environment. Is responsible to manage service contracts for all imaging equipment and maintains preventative maintenance agreements on said equipment.
- Develops and produces annual budget in collaboration with the CFO and the hospital board. Continually monitors and administers the departmental budget in accordance with the GAHHS strategic plan and vision.
- Maintains proper documentation to meet standards established by hospital, federal, state and local regulatory agencies including departmental policy and protocols.
- Attends all required organizational meetings.
- Responsible to continually evaluate processes to increase departmental productivity and efficiency within the department.
- Actively works with hospital administration, physicians, and the hospital board to promote current services and to continually evaluate service line in accordance with the GAHHS strategic plan and vision.
- Recruits, retains, and evaluates staff. Evaluates performance of department personnel and recommends or initiates action such as merit increases, promotions, transfers, disciplinary action and termination.
- Participates in special projects or assignment duties as requested by the hospital’s administration.
- Is responsible for maintaining the imaging chargemaster, both technical and professional. Maintains knowledge of coding and billing procedures in order to effectively administer chargemaster and apply charges. Participates in the revenue-cycle process including revenue-cycle committee meetings.
- Holds fiscal responsibility for all imaging departments including accounts payable, capital & operational budgeting, and assisting with the accounts receivable & revenue cycle processes.
- Works closely with the radiologist, Administrative Director , Director of Charge Master , and Department Radiology Physicians to assist in managing and directing the medical aspect of the radiology department.
- Acts as a leader, mentor, and resource for staff in regards to the technical aspects of the radiology department.
- Collaborates with other departmental directors assisting them, as needed, when applicable.
- Acts as a PACS leader and resource when necessary.
- Develops and maintains various reporting mechanisms as required by regulatory agencies or the organization.
- Manages leasing and service contracts for imaging equipment.
- Develops professional relationships with other directors, vendors, outside sales personnel, and finance organizations, in order to promote and facilitate the needs of the department and organization.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Prolong periods of sitting and standing.
- Heavy phone contact and moderate patient contact.
- Able to lift light objects frequently, perform moderately difficult manipulative skills: and lift patients and heavy objects with assistance occasionally.
- Must be able to concentrate on moderate detail with constant interruption.
- Must be able to understand and relate to specific ideas generally, several at a time, and remember multiple tasks given to self and others over long periods of time.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination skills; walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods; see objects clearly; and hear normal sounds with some background noises.
- Must have good communication skills, and be able to communicate both verbally and in written work, using advanced writing skills.
- Emotional stability conducive to dealing with a high stress level for eight or more hours at a time. Stress may be associated with: caring for patients, emotional demands of patients and their families, demands of maintaining effective working relationships with peers, managers, physicians, and other health care workers, dealing with multiple tasks at one time, and dealing with the day to day management of the department and its employees.
- Keen mental faculties are needed to perform assessment and decision making skills every day in the management and workings of the department.

Salary : $107,000 - $140,000
