What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Associate position at Gibraltar Industries?
Position Summary:
The Inventory Associate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of materials through the warehouse and inventory yard. Tracks the flow of incoming and outgoing products, understand, and align the physical and electronic flow of materials - inbound, outbound, and ensuring accurate data entry. Oversees and administers a cycle count program to verify that physical inventory matches digital inventory.
What You'll Do:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders and packing slips
- Inspect materials for damage, accuracy, and quality, partnering with the Quality Assurance Technician; report discrepancies as needed
- Accurately enter and update inventory transactions in ERP (Epicor)
- Pick, stage, and prepare materials for outbound shipments
- Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory counts
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard areas
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and identification of all materials
- Coordinate with operations, purchasing, and logistics teams to support workflow
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of materials and equipment
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts or other material handling equipment
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma or Post-Secondary Certification
- 2 years of experience in an inventory or warehousing position
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-functionally and self-direct work
Environment On-Site Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm. Work takes place outdoors, throughout the entire year, in varying weather conditions.
