Director of Operations

Ghost Golf
Irvine, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/20/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/19/2026

About GHOSTGOLF

GHOSTGOLF is a premium golf equipment, accessories, bags, and apparel brand on an aggressive growth trajectory. We sell across three channels simultaneously — direct-to-consumer, wholesale through pro shops and golf boutiques, and big box retail through Dick's Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, PGA Tour Super Store, Scheels and others. We also operate a corporate retail store.

We move fast, operate lean, and build things that last. Our products are premium. Our standards are high. Our team is getting bigger.

We are looking for an operator who has been in the trenches. Someone who has scaled a consumer goods or apparel brand, built systems where none existed, and knows the difference between a plan on paper and one that actually executes under pressure.

The Role

This role is structured as Director of Operations with a clear and expected path to COO as the business scales and the right candidate demonstrates strategic leadership.

You will own everything that keeps this business running and growing — operations, systems, logistics, inventory, fulfillment, retail, and the people who execute across all of it. You work directly with the founder and report to no one else.

This is not a manage-and-maintain role. We are mid-build. There are warehouses being transitioned, an ERP being implemented, a retail store being scaled, a team being built, and three sales channels that need to operate in sync. You are the person who makes all of that happen on time and without breaking what is working.

In 90 days, you will have taken ownership of our warehouse operations, led our ERP implementation through go-live, established clean sales operations across all three channels, and built the hiring plan for the next twelve months.

In twelve months, you will have built the operational infrastructure that gets Ghost Golf to 2X current revenue and beyond — and earned the COO title to go with it.

What You'll Own

Warehouse Operations Day-to-day management of warehouse and fulfillment. Oversee the buildout and transition of our new warehouse facility. Implement RFID compliance by December 31, 2026. Manage 3PL relationships and optimize pallet storage, pick/pack, and outbound logistics.

Corporate Retail Store Oversee the full operations of our corporate retail location. Manage store staffing, inventory allocation, visual merchandising standards, and POS systems. Ensure the store operates in sync with DTC and wholesale channels — consistent pricing, product availability, and brand standards across all touchpoints.

Systems and Technology Lead ERP implementation from selection through go-live. We are evaluating multiple ERPs at this time. Integration with Shopify, QuickBooks, and B2B platforms. Own the full systems stack — ERP, CRM, and WMS.

Inventory and Production Planning Own demand forecasting, purchase order management, and inventory positioning across DTC, wholesale, and retail. Build the planning process from the ground up. Eliminate stockouts. Reduce overstock.

Sales Operations Support the sales team across all three channels. Own CRM hygiene and reporting. Manage EDI compliance with major retail partners. Build the operational infrastructure that allows the wholesale and big box businesses to scale without adding headcount.

Finance and Reporting P&L ownership in partnership with the founder. Weekly operational reporting. Budget management. Cost discipline across all operational functions.

Team Building We are moving from founder-led to structured. You build the team. You hire, develop, and lead. You establish the culture and the standards of the operations function.

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • 7 years in operations leadership — Director of Operations, VP of Operations, or COO
  • Consumer goods, apparel, or accessories industry — you know the product cycle, production timelines, MOQs, and what it means to operate a physical goods business at scale
  • Proven ERP implementation experience — you have taken a company through a full implementation and lived to tell about it
  • Retail store operations experience — corporate or branded retail preferred. You have managed a physical retail location, understand the staffing model, the inventory discipline, and what it takes to run a store that reflects the brand at full volume
  • DTC, wholesale, and retail operations experience — all three channels, not just one
  • EDI and retail compliance experience with major retail partners
  • 3PL and logistics management — warehouse buildouts, transitions, and optimization
  • Team building at scale — you have hired, developed, and led operations teams through a growth phase

  • Calm under pressure. This business moves fast. You move with it.
  • Ambitious. You want the COO seat. You are willing to earn it.

The Path to COO

This role is intentionally structured as Director of Operations. We believe the right operator earns the COO title through demonstrated performance — not because it was handed to them on day one. The candidate who is right for this role will not be deterred by that. They will see it for what it is — a 12 to 18 month runway to prove they can run this business alongside the founder and step into the role with full credibility.

  • Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience
  • Clear path to COO
  • Direct partnership with the founder
