Essential Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and manual machines including mills, lathes, grinders, and other precision equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and work instructions to machine parts to specification.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for various materials and machining operations.
- Inspect in-process and finished components using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, CMM, calipers, gauges).
- Supports the Mission of the organization and adheres to all company policies
- Performs other duties as directed
- 7 years of experience in machining within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of CNC programming (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or other controllers).
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools.
- Proven ability to set up complex jobs and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.).
- Experience working with a variety of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, exotic alloys).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methods.
- Certification from NIMS or equivalent technical credentials.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving around the production floor.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Repetitive motions, including twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- May involve operating machinery, tools, or equipment requiring manual dexterity and coordination.
- Bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, crouching, and other physical activities may be required.
- Regular exposure to loud noises in a manufacturing setting may require the use of hearing protection.
- Exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Exposure to hazards, including but not limited to dust, fumes, chemicals, or other airborne particles; use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
