The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer leads and performs a variety of engineering tasks to identify, test, develop, implement and document manufacturing processes and methods. This is done both on the production floor and in an office setting. All tasks should be completed in accordance with product specifications, customer requirements and quality standards while also ensuring compliance to all required governmental laws and safety standards.

The compensation range for this position is $92,800 - $127,600. Final offers may vary based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. Job Description
Essential Functions
- Examines the manufacturing process for cost reducing automation opportunities, recommends and leads the implementation.
- Develop automation solutions to optimize plant performance for process and material flow
- Responsible for existing factory automation, to include software, controls, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Manage upgrades and maintain VFD's, PLC's, instrumentation, plant communication networks, process computers and related equipment
- Develops, tests, implements and documents a variety of routine to moderately complex operational sequences and processes in the manufacture of new and existing parts and/or products.
- Troubleshoots a variety of routine to moderately complex production problems involving continuous manufacturing processes and determines the root cause of failures and problems. Recommends corrective measures or changes in processing methods.
- Conducts routine to moderately complex engineering trials and production process evaluations for manufacturing operations. Analyzes production data and identifies trends, problems and opportunities for improvement. Recommends process adjustments to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency while reducing material and manpower costs.
- Provide direction and assign tasks to the ME team.
- Lead project teams to drive positive change to manufacturing processes.
- Lead capital project initiatives from inception to execution of production.
- Facilitate the development of documenting engineering action items to ensure problem resolution.
- Estimates manufacturing costs, process time and manpower requirements. Consolidates, documents and presents results for review.
- Creates, writes and modifies work process procedures.
- Conducts research, compiles data and prepares reports. Prepares and delivers presentations.
- Prepares training materials and trains key production employees and production supervisors on new work procedures and manufacturing processes.
- Reports to work prepared and on time, adheres to all company policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5 years’ experience in a continuous flow manufacturing engineering environment required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
- Financial skills to understand and use business financial data
- Strong problem solving skills and effective time management and multi-tasking skills
- Exhibits a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness
- Working knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to the production of various products.
- Industrial experience with installation and maintaining PLC's, VFD's, HMI's, instrumentation, plant networks, servers, and related equipment
- Working knowledge of production processes, quality control, costing and other methods for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
- Well-developed analytical, problem solving, communication and presentation skills. Possesses well-developed skills in mathematics. Intermediate to advanced skills in excel and other application software used in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
