What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operation Test Technician position at GEOSPACE TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATION?
This position will conduct performance and quality tests on components, assemblies, and finished products using specialized equipment to ensure they meet standards and specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Certify equipment is ready to ship- save test results for engineering and upload them to FTP site for customers to review.
- Collaborate with the research of techniques and tools related to software testing.
- Effectively communicates testing activities and findings in oral and written forms to engineering and fiber optic personnel.
- Compare the findings with the customers’ reported problems and provide advice on failures found in repair technicians and engineering.
- Maintains adherence to production, test, and quality system procedures.
- Retrieves test procedures from corporate databases.
- Participate in requirements and code reviews to track, analyze and resolve defects.
- Perform other work-related tasks.

Qualifications:Minimum six months’ experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- (Preferred) Two to three years of experience working fibric optic cable.
-Must be able to communicate in English, to give and receive written and verbal instructions.
Education/Experience requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Basic Computer Skills, needed for data logging and tracking production.
Physical Requirements:
- Operators need to be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Perform repetitive tasks and stand for long periods of time.
