Start your career in public service. The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Human Resources (OHR) is seeking candidates for the position of Project Manager 2. This position is located in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.

Paygrade: MUnder broad supervision, manages projects through the full life cycle from project definition and approval through implementation and evaluation of all project deliverables. Incumbents must create a collaborative partnership with the all internal and external team members to accomplish the deliverables within the timeframes and budgets defined. Provides guidance to the project team and utilizes standard project management methodology.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Leads process improvement initiatives by analyzing current workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing streamlined processes to improve service delivery, compliance, and employee experience.
- Develop and execute strategic HR projects through partnerships to plan, prioritize, and deliver projects aligned with agency goals.
- Monitors performance metrics through establishing KPI's, track project progress, and produce reports that inform decision-making and demonstrates impact of HR initiatives.
- Identifies risks and drives continuous improvement, assessing risks, recommending mitigation strategies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strong Analytical Thinking.
- Ability to analyze date, create tracking spreadsheets, and communicate insights clearly.
- Ability to communicate with stakeholder management and experience leading teams.
- Strong ability to work with leadership.
- High school diploma/GED AND five (5) years of recent relevant project management experience with a progression in responsibility AND eligibility to sit for Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following education/skills/experience:
- 3-5 years of Project Management Fundamentals including knowledge of project life cycles, scheduling, risk management stakeholder communications.
- 3-5 years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- PMP certification or working towards completion.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
