The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS),The Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is the division within DHS that enhances the well-being of children by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders, enforcing and modifying support obligations; and collecting and distributing child support payments. This program promotes parent accountability and self-sufficiency while reducing the public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. DCSS also administers several outreach programs to include but not limited to Fatherhood, Prison Re-Entry, and Parental Accountability Court. These outreach initiatives are devoted to increasing non-custodial parental involvement in the child's life.
DCSS is seeking candidates for the position of Grants Specialist Supervisor (Grants Supervisor). This position is primarily teleworking, with occasional in-person reporting as needed to fulfill job duties. Applicants should be flexible working from different locations. Regular communication is essential to ensure that both telework responsibilities and any required on-site tasks are handled effectively. Pay Grade: MSupervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Supervises the preparation of a full range of grant proposals. Administers and oversees ongoing grant programs and related funds. Researches service needs and compatible funding sources and prepares grant proposals or contracts.
Under Limited Supervision the Grants Supervisor:
- Supervises and plans the work of assigned staff.
- Functions as the primary contact and maintains a detailed database of financial information.
- Supervises the preparation and administration of grants, applications, fees and budgets, compliance, procurement and related education.
- Oversees the administration of and/or awards funds on behalf of agency or other grantors.
- Provides on-the-job training and performance coaching for assigned staff.
- Provides technical/topical expertise, information, planning, and problem resolution for grant-related activities.
- Research service needs and compatible funding sources and prepare requests for proposals.
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated successful leadership skills.
- Excellent oral, written, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications and equipment typically used in a corporate office environment.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance public administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of job-related experience which includes one (1) year as a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role,
- Seven (7) years of job-related experience which includes one (1) year as a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role.
- One year of experience at the lower level Grants Spec 3 (FIP052) or equivalent position.
- Strong organizational skills with proven experience managing multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with team members, external partners and leadership
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and ensure high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Vendor relation experience
- Contract Compliance Monitoring
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Previous leadership experience in Procurement/Grants
- Contract Drafting
- GCPM Certification
