What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor Of Psychology position at Georgetown College?
Georgetown College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position within the Department of Psychology to begin August 2026. Area of specialization is open, with preference for Development or Social Psychology. The position comes with a teaching load of 4/4 (four courses in the Fall, four courses in the Spring). Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in the department. Candidates are expected to exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
Georgetown College is a private, Christian, liberal arts institution and emphasis is placed on teaching excellence in a diverse context. It is located in the small college town of Georgetown, Kentucky, just 12 miles north of Lexington.
The Psychology Department at Georgetown College currently includes 3 full-time faculty and 2 part-time faculty in areas of clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and cognitive psychology. Applicants must have experience in teaching undergraduates and be able to demonstrate their commitment and excellence in teaching. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Psychology with a preference for Developmental Psychology, or Social Psychology. All requirements for degree conferral must be completed prior to start of employment.
