Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow direction from the General Manager of the PBU or his designee
- Help support and maintain all 6S standards in your immediate work area and others as needed
- Construct auxiliary equipment ranging in complexity from "simple to intermediate"
- Make sure all safety equipment and safety regulations are adhered to when operating machinery
- Perform other job-related duties as directed
- Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees
- Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor
- Adhere to all Environmental, Health & Safety rules
- Follow instructions and guidelines
- Work with close tolerances related to drilling, boring, reaming and milling
- Maintain a 40-hour workweek and ability to work overtime as needed
- Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18801 certification requirements
- Good working knowledge of metal cutting feeds and speeds, threading terminology and calculating angles for setting sine bars
- Able to work from blueprints, sketches and/or verbal descriptions for planning operational sequences
- Good working knowledge of standard shop mathematics
- Understand grinding principles and procedures
- High school diploma, desired
- Two (2) years experience in vocational training or machine shop
- Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in a safe manner
- Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast and repetitious operation for extended period of time
- Exposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety toed shoes required)
- Exposure to sparks, chips, and dust (eye protection required)
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion. Examples: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time
- Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required)
- Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts
