What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Program Director (Adult Program) position at GenPsych, PC?
The Assistant Program Director works closely with the Program Director to provide leadership and support for the assigned site’s program’s operations.
Job Functions and Duties:
- Assumes routine administrative responsibilities as indicated and assists in the development and implementation of the program policies and procedures.
- Develops and coordinates individual behavior and group therapies and provides oversight for other therapists and clinical support staff.
- Provides individual patient assessments, develops special treatment plans, and coordinates the implementation of the plan.
- Evaluate effectiveness and report to the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Attends unit meetings, actively participates in the identification of areas for improvement, and works in collaboration with the Program Director to implement programmatic revisions.
- Supporting role as liaison between the community and the facility by creating a positive image and networking with appropriate organizations.
- Work with program directors to recruit, attract and retain high-quality staff for the facility.
- Ensure that EEC state regulations are translated into program policies.
- Ensure that appropriate paperwork for accreditation and analysis is completed in a timely fashion.
- Understand, implement and ensure that GenPsych’s organizational policies, procedures and goals are followed.
- Implement all quality management initiatives for the site including patient care and relations, JACHO and other licensure accreditation compliance, risk management and safety, performance improvement and infection control.
- Assist in coordinating ongoing assessments of GenPsych’s current practices to identify treatment alternatives and strategies for delivery of programs and individualized services.
- Assumes other responsibilities as directed.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, management/human resources training preferred.
- New Jersey licensure in good standing: Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Associate Counselor, or post-doctoral student enrolled in clinical supervision with full licensure pending; or
- New Jersey full licensure in good standing: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- At least five years of previous experience in implementing mental health programs on the clinical level.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with a multidisciplinary staff.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to work with both the community and senior management.
- Outstanding organization and leadership abilities.
- Flexibility and ability to think outside of the box.
- Ability to work with clients and their families to create optimum results.
- Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court and police activities, etc.
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to professional code of ethics.
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with state Mental Health Code.
