This is not a remote role, and you must be based within commutable distance of Rutherford, New Jersey.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resource Coordinator will perform duties in the human resources functional areas, including recruitment, onboarding, new-hire orientation, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, leave management, training & development, and employee records maintenance. The Human Resource Coordinator will serve as an administrative support to the organization's staffing.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Administration

  • Collaborate in the performance improvement project for all departments.
  • Identifying potential risks In the company and working with the HR manager to resolve them.
  • Organize and update employee files in UKG to maintain personnel actions and documents, benefit selections, payroll, performance, training, and certifications.
  • Assist in the ongoing training of UKG by creating training guides and setting up training seminars.
  • Manage employee inquiries for benefits, PTO, leave of absence notifications, workers' compensation-related issues, name/address changes, etc.
  • Complete I-9 verification through UKG.
  • Revise, update, and draft policies as needed. (employee programs, handbook, Safety, incident reporting)
  • Handle internal events that promote culture and engagement.
  • Assist with office admin responsibilities.


Benefits

  • Administer and manage all benefit activities for employees, including open enrollment, employee changes, and new-hire, life changes, and termination activities.
  • Benefits Enrollment; ensure employees are enrolled in a timely manner.
  • Develop and manage effective employee communications to improve understanding of benefit plans.
  • Manage the relationships with our benefit broker and service administrators, relating to quality, costs/billings, reporting, audits, and controls.


Talent Acquisition

  • Assist with reviewing resumes, pre-screening, and referring candidates to hiring managers for open positions.
  • Reviewing our external postings on job boards.
  • Initiation, coordination, and development of the new hire onboarding experience.


Employee Relations/Training/Employee Engagement

  • Provide customer service to employees by responding to and answering requests and questions, and providing information relevant to their jobs.
  • Coordinate training in various workplace areas i.e. Safety, Health, Harassment, etc.
  • Maintain updated Federal and State employment posters and distribute/post as required by law.
  • Event, activity, and workplace recognition coordination.
  • Continuous updates to the company’s intranet.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Recent graduate or 1-3 years of human resources coordinator experience required
  • Collaborative, team player, and independent worker with great communication skills and ability to interact in group and 1 on 1 situations, developing positive professional relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments with changing priorities and/or in an ambiguous environment.
  • Implement and execute best practices that comply with and align with ethical standards.
  • Demonstrate and show continuous development of HR competencies.
  • Develop knowledge of employment law(s) and regulations
  • Displays courtesy and sensitivity, managing difficult or emotional employee situations
  • High level of confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information.
