POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Application Lead is a key business product owner within the IT/Business Technology department, responsible for driving the design, implementation, and integration of supply chain applications—particularly Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other Supply Chain applications —to support Sales and Operations functions. This role ensures that IT solutions meet business needs through close collaboration with stakeholders, rigorous technical execution, and deep understanding of logistics and operational workflows.

The Application Manager will act as the primary technical liaison between business teams and IT, leading cross-functional initiatives that enable data-driven decision-making and process automation within the supply chain landscape. This position is expected to be the Super User of a variety of applications, including Turvo, CRM, Carrier Trading Tools, Telematics Tracking Applications, Reporting Applications, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Application Implementation & Technical Leadership

• Lead the implementation and ongoing enhancement of supply chain systems, including TMS, routing, load planning, and order visibility tools.
• Define and translate operational requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Serve as subject matter expert on the integration of supply chain platforms with internal systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, financial tools).
• Oversee the configuration, testing, and deployment of application features in coordination with business and vendor teams.

IT Project Execution & Support

• Manage end-to-end Business Technology project delivery lifecycle for supply chain initiatives, including project scoping, planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Ensure data accuracy and system alignment through robust governance, documentation, and quality assurance processes.

Cross-Functional Business Alignment

• Partner closely with Sales and Operations teams to understand business priorities and ensure systems are aligned with departmental goals.
• Provide post-deployment support and act as escalation point for system issues or change requests.
• Facilitate user training, documentation handoff, and operational readiness for new technologies.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

• Manage vendor relationships related to supply chain technologies, including contract adherence, SLAs, and roadmap planning.
• Coordinate with internal BT infrastructure and security teams to ensure solutions meet compliance and performance standards.

Continuous Improvement and Strategy

• Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation within the supply chain application ecosystem.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in logistics tech, integrating relevant advances into the BT strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Data Analytics, Business, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of experience in supply chain logistics and related technologies.
• 5 years of Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain experience.
• Proven success leading system implementations, particularly TMS or other transportation/logistics platforms.
• SQL proficiency for database querying and analysis.
• Hands-on technical experience in implementation, integration, and support.
