Job Summary (Lead Application Business Analyst)
- Lead and mentor a team of business analysts, promoting best practices and knowledge-sharing.
- Serve as a liaison between client stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment of project goals.
- Partner with stakeholders, designers, and development teams for backlog management, prioritization, and delivery readiness.
- Translate complex business needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings (requirements elicitation, scoping, impact analysis) and coach others on facilitation.
- Assign, prioritize, and oversee team workloads to ensure timely and high-quality project deliverables.
- Oversee and ensure accurate gathering, documentation, and analysis of business requirements and processes.
- Ensure consistent use of requirements management tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and stakeholders to prioritize backlogs and mitigate risks.
- Monitor and track multiple projects, ensuring business analyst deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
- Conduct regular reviews of team outputs, such as user stories and business process flows, for alignment with objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, providing status updates and communicating value delivery.
- Utilize strong leadership, analytical, facilitation, and communication skills to drive successful project outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
- 10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in application development, preferably in large-scale environments.
- 3 years’ experience in a leadership or mentoring role.
- Recent experience with at least one enterprise software development project and various methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Strong proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence/SharePoint, Visio, MS Office.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Healthcare, Medicaid, Health Exchange, ACA, and NY State compliance experience preferred.
