What You'll Do
You'll be an important member of the accounting team responsible for ensuring incoming payments are processed accurately and customer accounts remain up to date.
Responsibilities will include:
- Process and apply incoming customer payments accurately and efficiently.
- Handle payments received through ACH, wire transfers, checks, and other methods.
- Research payments that cannot immediately be matched to the correct account.
- Resolve payment discrepancies and application issues.
- Review and clear unapplied cash.
- Reconcile daily cash activity and deposits.
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.
- Respond to questions regarding payment status and account activity.
- Work closely with billing, accounts receivable, cash management, and other internal teams.
- Assist with reporting and special accounting projects as needed.
- Help identify opportunities to improve and streamline cash application processes.
What They're Looking For
- Approximately 1–3 years of cash applications, accounts receivable, or related accounting experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good Excel skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to research and resolve payment discrepancies independently.
- Comfortable working with a high volume of transactions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required with relevant experience.
