As the organization continues to grow, they are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, professional environment with exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities and business operations. The position follows a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the Chicago office and two days working remotely.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Record journal entries and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
- Review and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Assist with billing, client invoicing, and collections activities.
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Analyze financial data and investigate account discrepancies.
- Assist with external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 1 years of accounting experience, preferably in a professional services, public accounting, or corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
