Job Duties
- Provide routine and emergency troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance support for customers on their industrial refrigeration systems. Communicate clearly with customers about issues and solutions.
- Promote, build, and maintain excellent customer relationships.
- Document completion of all work done, submitting all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with all safety requirements.
- Test systems after repairs to ensure proper operation and are safe and up to code.
- Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear.
- Frequent communication with supervisors regarding work status updates and/or customer relationship concerns.
- Report reoccurring issues or product defects to Supervisors.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of changes and new developments in products and preventive maintenance techniques within the Industrial Refrigeration industry.
- Ensure proper care of General Refrigeration assets such as tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Provide on-the-job training to Service Technician Apprentice and ensure any work performed by Service Technician Apprentice is reviewed, approved and in accordance with General Refrigeration's standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of Industrial Refrigeration service experience providing routine and emergency troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance support to include a working knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors, electrical and controls/alarm systems, evaporators, condensers, valves, motors, and pumps.
- Universal EPA Certification
- Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA and industry safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and maintain productivity with little supervision.
- Proficiency in effective communication information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others within the company as well as externally to customers and vendors.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to be on-call and respond to customer needs outside of normal working hours, as needed.
- Ability to work weekends and/or travel overnight, as required.
- Must have a team player attitude and be a self-starter.
- Strong organizational skills and resourceful problem-solving skills.
- Position requires pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be willing and able to work in various work environments to include both inside and outside locations at varying temperatures.
· Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time.
· Lifting and carrying tools, materials, and equipment.
· Extended periods of working overhead, stretching, bending, climbing stairs and/or ladders required.
